Support Engineer

Here at Mito we love creating clever things: apps, websites and other complex digital solutions for telcos, lottery companies and aviation brands all over the world. We are super proud of the things we put together and have a lot of fun while doing it.

Our lottery & betting development team of around 20 wants to get lucky: they’re looking for a Support Engineer. If you are not intimidated by talking simultaneously to clients, developers and our project managers, then we feel like we’ve hit the jackpot.

Your tasks will be

Keep in touch with our partners, our development team and our project management team when a client experiences issues with her product.

Understand these issues and translate them into tickets, turning a “what’s going on” into something the team can start working on.

Check logs, firewall settings, log in to servers to see if everything is neat and tidy - sometimes a bug isn’t a bug, just a checkbox left unchecked.

If you feel that an issue is beyond you, you are the one who escalates it to the right person.

As a last step, you are happy to talk to the client again - this time with great news.

What we expect from you:

Some kind of engineering background - we won’t ask you to rewrite a whole feature if something’s broken but it’s nice to understand what you see. A hint of devops might prove useful too.

A few years of experience in the technical support of web applications.

Linux, terminal, server operations, Docker, firewall configurations are something you know well. We are not saying that you have to have master skills in these, but you will definitely need to have a deep understanding.

Be fluent in Hungarian and be able to communicate in English, since we have clients from all over the world - and they either speak Hungarian or English.

What you get in return

We have only one rule: take your work seriously, everything else should be easy and fun. Ok, that’s basically two rules. Here are some benefits you get by working with us:

Health Coverage

We got you covered if you need medical treatment. Hope you won't need to test it though.

Learning and development

Mito Hackathons, Mito Academy, Mito Brainy, Mito Showcase. There's a lot of events to keep our knowledge fresh - we know, we should invest more time in naming them.

Free fruits and snacks

If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, we wouldn't need the health coverage. Anyway, every now and then, there's some fresh fruit and snacks up for grabs.

9 to 5(ish)

Or 10 to 6. Or whatever. You can manage your time quite flexibly, if you do everything the others need, on time.

Good to know

We work in four business units, all sharing the same DNA, but doing a lot of different and exciting stuff. This job belongs to the following business unit:

How does the hiring process look like?

If everything is cool with your resume, we'll invite you to our office. You’ll meet with one of our colleague from the People Team, who will introduce you to Mito and all the good stuff you will be part of if you decide to join us. She will be with you throughout the entire process and will assist you with anything you might need.
You will have the opportunity to meet with the leader of the department as well.

Also, you will get to ask anything starting from where our dogs nap to what specific tasks we work on for our clients. After getting your answers, we will give you a test work.
We do this with everyone, on every level.

We let you know what we think about your test. No matter the outcome, we’ll let you know what we think and we do this because we think this is fair.

Just like with the feedback, we’ll get back to you with our decision. Hopefully with a big and happy yes!

The only thing we take seriously at Mito. Oh, and personal growth. No matter if you do coding, writing, photoshopping or managing projects, as a company we would like to give you the opportunities to be better at it.

Our offices are in the Central Palace office building, located on Karolyi Utca, in downtown Budapest. A lot of room to come up with really cool stuff and have fun doing it. We occupy 3 large floors with enough sunlight to keep our plants alive.

Four-Legged Colleagues

Four-Legged Colleagues

Having animals - ok, mostly dogs - in the office increases optimism, lowers stress and from time to time enables us to take a break and get some fresh air. So dogs are very welcome here.

Inspiring atmosphere

Work related projects that inspire us are a given. Inspiring each other to flex those creative muscles is a task we gladly take upon ourselves. Like having our GFX wizards compete in designing each year's official T-shirt for the last ten years. Go on, have a look!
